Kitchen Floor Bags

I can't make up my mind about this one. Kitchenfloorbags are shoulder bags constructed out of PVC flooring. Their website says they use the end pieces left over from the production process...not quite the same as recycling used flooring, but I guess it's better than just tossing the scraps. I like the idea behind the bag and I appreciate the durability, but something about these doesn't quite make the cut. Maybe I'm just getting thrown off by the ugly samples used in the bags above, but no...it's definitely the cheap black webbing. Well, perhaps if you like Freitag, you'll like these too! (Warning: the website plays some pretty obnoxious music you can't turn off)

i think the idea has potential but the execution is lacking...

I think it would grow on me given time. There are nicer floor patterns they could have used...But I would get one.

Great Idea!!!!!! If we all used materials that were not being utilized or being discarded, there would be alot less waste-it does not matter if they are of "recycled" material or not. This is exactly the spirit we need in product design.

I bought one of these in the Bauhaus in Dessau.(The bags are sold exclusively to Design Museum Shops) They are not of cheap webbing or these stores would not accept them and sell them. You have to hold one in your hand and see the craftmanship (handmade) and detailing. The bags also have a nylon lining that most of the pvc canvas bags do not have.
I love my bag.

Well done in product conception, execution and marketing!!!!

ps. I just checked the website. you can turn the music off in the upper right. I thought the music was great. Check it out yourself.

I bought a bag at the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art in Amsterdam and i think its great! Have you guys ever seen one of these bags at all? The webbing is thick hight strength webbing and not edging ribbon. I have the black and white bag KOKO- a typical flooring pattern and people stop me on the street all over Europe to ask me about it. I love the idea and the high quality of these bags.

Thanks gojoe and anon - it's nice to get a firsthand account, photos on the web don't always do a product justice.
