Daniel Hulsbergen

Daniel Hulsbergen, a student at Eindhoven Academy, designed a series of vases encompassing two Dutch traditions. Hulsbergen took broken delft vases and made them whole again using Dutch basketry techniques.

Anna Kravitz

Swedish designer Anna Kravitz showcased her 'A Cappella' table and 'Beatrix' sofa during Stockholm Design Week. Her pieces incorporate subtle clothing accessories - in this case a belt and several bright buttons. (via designboom)

Camilla Halvorsen


Camilla Halvorsen, a young designer from Stockholm, emailed with some of her new work. 'Drops' are chairs she made from recycled upholstery fabric, while the colorful 'Treat' bowls were created with left over lampshade frames. Her bowls are available on etsy too. Thanks Camilla!

This installation at Come Up to My Room was designed by Andrew Ooi and Eric Mathew. The 'Origami' light created by Ooi is made from Japanese paper.

Come Up to My Room 2009

'Come Up to My Room', an annual exhibit at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, took place from February 5th-8th. Various designers are invited to transform a space within the hotel and are given free reign to present whatever they please. Above are Kwangho Lee's beautiful handmade lamps, which were part of the ballroom installation. More photos of the exhibit to come.
